I recently hired Oz to manage my move from Brooklyn, NY, to Southern California, shelling out a substantial $10,000 plus tip for their services. To my dismay, they caused a staggering $3100 in damages to my property.

Oz's negligence resulted in the destruction of our daughter's brand-new bed frame and mattress, along with a 55" OLED TV that was previously in perfect condition. We had paid extra for Oz to handle the packing and preparation of these items, but their improper handling and packing methods led to the damage. I don't know how you can break a mattress, but somehow they managed.

What's even more infuriating is Oz's refusal to take responsibility for their actions. They dismissively claim that this is a "high-risk industry" and insist we should have purchased additional insurance coverage, shifting the blame onto us. This response is entirely unacceptable, given their incompetence. Hiring a moving company for packing should mean you don't need to spend extra on insurance – a competent company should ensure the safety of your items.

If you read other reviews you'll see the same complaints, and the same casual indifference from Oz.

I can only give them one star because I have to, and that's solely because our belongings eventually arrived. To be fair, I had used Oz before without issue. I'm not sure if the company changed owners or if something changed due to the pandemic, but buyer beware - Oz isn't worth the risk.

Oz Moving & Storage destroyed $3100 worth of our possessions. Oz improperly packed our TV and the screen was bent and cracked upon delivery. They broke our toddler daughter’s bed frame, and crushed the mattress — all of which were essentially brand new. This was the sloppiest move I have ever seen. Boxes were crushed during transit, and they packed items improperly. I would never use Oz again and I’m in the process of reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. The company failed to do its basic job. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

What is most sad is that they won’t reimburse us for the items because we only had basic insurance. However, this was not a dish or lamp breaking by accident, this was our daughter’s bed and our TV completely destroyed by improper packing, which was their responsibility.

Hands down the worst moving company I've ever worked with. I used OZ Moving & Storage to move from California to Tennessee and thousands of dollars worth of furniture and personal belongings were damaged. On the day of move-in, only one person employed by the company showed up to our house and his hand was broken so he couldn't do any lifting. He ultimately ended up calling two of his friends to help with the move because no one else from OZ showed up to work. After assessing the damages, I reached out to the claims department. It took weeks to get a response, with me having to follow up numerous times by phone and email. I ended up getting reimbursed $800, (the total cost of the move was $15K+) which only covered a small fraction of the damages. Have never had this experience with a moving company before and would never work with OZ Moving again.

UPDATE *Finally received our stuff, and our couch is ruined with dark marks all over, 8 of our nice wine glasses completely shattered (we packed them very carefully), and most of the boxes that arrived were in awful smushed shape. We were told we'd get a refund before this happened, so now we really netter. Would never recommend this company. Pictures below.

AWFUL COMPANY! DO not use. Our belongings were picked up from LA to go to SC-they promised 18 business days. I told them that the only time I would not be in SC to accept delivery was June 28-July 5th as I'd be away in NYC, so to please block that out. Monica in LA said she had made a note and that our stuff wouldn't be delivered then. Of course, the second I land in NYC, I receive a call from a driver saying they can deliver the following day in SC. I was angry as I specifically blocked this week out, but he assured me that our stuff would be put in storage and that someone would call me to re-schedule a delivery date. I recieved NO call, which I expected in this industry, but I have been calling multiple numbers and no response. When we finally got a hold of someone named Carlos, he told us he'd call us right back yesterday and that our things could potentially be delivered today. NO CALL BACK. Also, the contradiction we've been told is absurd. If I call the East coast time, they tell me they can't help me and to call the west coast since that's who originally picked up our stuff, but when I contact the West coast, they tell me it's out of their hands and to contact the east coast!! IT'S NOW BEEN PAST THE 18 BUSINESS DAY WINDOW.

Monica is also not helpful and rude and when I reached out asking for help, she just said how busy she has been and acts as if it's a burden to point us in the right direction. She also told me to contact the person who "emailed me about delivery" when I never received an email. She said this is "not her territory" anymore - I don't care, SOMEONE needs to step in. At this point, I'm convinced our stuff is lost & my husband and I have been basically sitting on the floor for almost a month. We were told we'd receive a partial refund, but where is our stuff? DO NOT USE.

I used Oz Movers for my move from Los Angeles to San Diego. During the delivery into my ground floor apartment one of the younger inexperienced movers was attempting to carry a large marble dining table top himself without any assistance. As he walked through the front door he dropped it on the floor resulting in a 1.5” by 1.5” chip on the top edge of the table. When I asked the foreman in charge of the move if the table just cracked he assured me it was wrapped and would be protected. After about 30 minutes, the foreman unwrapped the table and noticed the damage. He asked me if maybe the damage was already present when they picked up the table but I assured him it was not. When he found the pieces that had broken off wrapped in the moving blankets, he acknowledged that the drop had indeed damaged the table top.

While setting up my 65” television the following day, I noticed that the screen was covered in fingerprints and that 1/3 of the screen had been shattered as a result of the movers holding it by the glass front. During the unpacking process, I had noticed two of the movers carrying it around and leaning it up against the furniture.

The costs of the move was almost $5,000, the cost to replace the table top from Room & Board was a little over $1,600, and the flatscreen tv was recently purchased for $1,100. In total the move and damages amounted to $7,700.

When I contacted Oz Movers to let them know about the damage, they explained that they only cover $0.60 per pound regardless of whether the damage was caused by the negligence of their movers. I explained to the claims managers that the movers broke two of the largest and most expensive items and that $0.60 per pound would not only fall short of the cost to repair/replace the items, but that I had been charged more than that simply for moving the two broken items.

My claim was submitted on 7/11 and after a 2 phone calls and an email I was advised today 7/22 that I would be getting a check for $300. I cannot express how disappointed I am with Oz Movers for not taking responsibility for the carelessness and negligence of their movers. If you do decide to use them, I would recommend paying extra for premium insurance that covers replacement costs as it is expected that they will break your items.

Today, Oz Moving company delivered my furniture. We had initially set a virtual walkthrough to get an estimate. Once they came to pack our stuff, they charged us $2,500 more than the estimate, which means you cannot trust their estimate process. While packing, after I bought the crew lunch and was throwing the trash away, I saw they had broken glassware and had not bothered to mention it or to tell us. I had also set aside important documents in a bag and told them not to pack it. This accidentally got packed.

The sales person told us delivery would be Oct 27th to Oct 30th. My furniture was delivered on Nov 3rd.

When the furniture was delivered, somehow they had misplaced parts of my bed frame. Based on the services provided, they were supposed to breakdown and reassemble furniture but that did not happen with my bed frame. Aside from that, as I have been unpacking things, I have seen that a lot of the boxes had more paper in it than anything else and they had packed trash up. So basically the additional $2,500 was because of inefficient packing and trash on top of the 14k that they quoted. This company is not professional so customers should be aware. Don't make the same mistake I made.

DO NOT USE!!!!!!!!! If I could leave less than 1 star I would!! WORST MOVING COMPANY I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH. HIGHLY ADVISE AGAINST!!!!!!!!!!! INGRID AND MONICA WERE ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENTS I HAVE EVER EVER WORKED WITH. I asked over and over, via phone and email about change of delivery and if there were additional charges and everyone I spoke with said no, it would be fine. Come to know, it cost me additional money to change my day by a week. I get my stuff and HALF MY ITEMS were destroyed. I lost one TV, a coffee table, and a TV stand. And do you think they are going to assist? ABSOLUTELY NOT. They advise you to re read your contract. I will be the ones to advise you. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, and if you ever have to deal with MONICA or INGRID, DO NOT!!!! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM AND WILL RUIN EVER PIECE OF FURNITURE YOU HAVE!!!!!!!! IT WILL COST YOU MORE MONEY IN THE LONG RUN!!!!!!

We just completed a cross-country move with the help of Oz Movers and I can't recommend them highly enough. We have a lot of valuable art and furniture and only one small glass broke along the way from NY to CA. Their team in NYC was efficient, professional and good-spirited; their team in CA was just as reliable, as was the office coordinating logistics. Monica was particularly responsive and accommodating. Will be returning to them for any future moves!
