Its my first children’s storybook ‘Felicia’s Journey of Happiness’ is going to be published by Pegasus Publishers. I am so glad that they believe in me when I am even not sure about it, they help me, and support me so much to make my storybook successful. My dream come true now and I am still not believe that my dream is real now, all thanks to Pegasus.

I truly did not want to post a negative review of this company, but I gave them numerous opportunities to redeem themselves, and, frankly, this publishing company is too incompetent or too shady to make it happen. I'm not certain which is the proper descriptor. It is difficult and frustrating trying to communicate with them. You rarely get to communicate with the same person. Sometimes, you get no response at all. Sometimes, there is an employee who will respond and be helpful, but often this is not the case. They do not pay royalties as they are supposed to...their accounting is suspect...especially when it comes to sales with Amazon. Because I knew I could get books more quickly through Amazon, I ordered copies of my own books from them. When royalties were to be paid, they said that no sales had been made through Amazon. I, however, provided documented proof to them that proved their bookkeeping was inaccurate or that they were being dishonest. I'm not sure which. They helped me market my books very early on, and I was thankful, but no communication (initiated by them) nor support since then. I placed an order with them, and it took more than a month for the books to arrive...and then they were sent to the wrong address...the wrong state! That address was years old. This put me in a position that prevented me from filling orders in a timely manner with respectable companies. I work with another publishing company as well. This is how I know, beyond a doubt, how supportive good publishers are. My other company's president communicates regularly (at least monthly...usually more). She enters my books in contests. She notifies me of events. She gives me advice on marketing. She writes announcements for newspapers. This is the type of relationship authors should have with their publishing company. I would recommend going elsewhere for publication.

DON’T DO IT- SCAMMERS!! They owe me money!!

I paid $3,500 upfront for a picture book (Dancing Feet) to Pegasus. They had horrible communication the entire time. The employee turn-around for that company is bad as well, as you rarely deal with the same person twice. It took 2 years for them to produce an “okay” looking children’s picture book- not the illustrator I choose either- they lied about that too. My book can be found at Amazon, Target, Barnes & Noble and world-wide (supposedly). I am to make 25% off of the sale price which is outrageous ($30.99 for a children’s book- I had no warning or input on that pricing). My book was published in July 2023 with a signed contract stating I am to get my royalties twice a year, and I haven’t received one penny to date! I have sent demand letters, placed calls and sent emails, with no reply or money paid. I can attest to at least 100+ books being sold online, and Pegasus claims they don’t have any record of online sales. As they blame Amazon. It is all lies!! Although someone from their office messed up and sent me a statement showing I sold 117 books for one of the 6 month periods, yet ignore my proof and refuse to pay/respond.
I am currently working with a lawyer from San Francisco, CA (USA). As well as the Trading Standards in the UK, to file a complaint with small claims.
It is the principle of the matter- You owe me money and it’s time to pay up.
So anyone thinking of signing with this vanity publishing company… DON’T DO IT!!

Pegasus Publishing helped make my dream of having my books published come true . Their team was easy to work with, and they were all very kind. They helped me bring my book to life, there was just a couple of things that could have gone a bit smoother. At times, it was a little hard to communicate what I was thinking, but it was minor and I was still impressed with my final product .
Thank you to the Pegasus team for helping me with my book journey !

Completely professional with excellent communication, Pegasus exceeded my expectations. This is the WORST company I have ever dealt with. Don't fall for their dubious claims, they are a vanity publisher. They claim to be a "hybrid" publisher, but here is what really happens: You pay a big chunk of money, with the promise of high royalties on the back end. They take your money and do nothing. After a very long and depressing process dealing with them (I have two years of emails to back this up), two things have finally happened. One, I finally received the digital formatted version of my book. It was so terribly done, a ten-year-old could have done better. The version they used was the very first, unedited version I ever sent them, not the current one. There are so many other issues with it that I will not bore you. The second is that I've been in consultation with a lawyer, who said, "As you now know, you are not alone in this. I've had many authors contact me to see if there is anything they can do about them. Unfortunately, there is very little that any individual author can do, without throwing good money after bad."

The one thing we should all do is REPORT THEM to the Trading Standards https://www.tradingstandards.uk/consumer-help/. Their business model is opaque, murky, not up-front and honest about the product they produce or the effort they put into it. In my opinion, this seems like a classic bait-and-switch business model. I believe they should be investigated.

For those of you who say I should have known better, you are right. Before signing, I did do my homework. Their reviews were not so terrible (like they are now). I researched the "hybrid" model and it seemed okay. I contacted a previous author with them and he reported a decent experience. I ordered a book they had produced and the quality was fine. Still, I was dumb and naive. My experience has been horrendous from the beginning. The disorganization is beyond terrible. The staff appears to have little to no communication among them and cannot keep track of documents they've requested, of which I've re-sent multiple times. I've gotten so many requests for the same information from different departments. They don't respond to emails, and when finally someone responds, they are dismissive and rude. AND I've gone through two production managers (apparently they have a high turnover) since this nightmare began, and as of a month ago, none. The very rude woman I finally spoke to said she was "just helping out" when I asked her what her title was, since she said she was not my production manager (although a different staff member told me she was). Whatever that means.

DON'T DO WHAT I DID! Don't give Pegasus a dime of your money.
